The Airbus company – one of the most important in the world, in the design and manufacture of aircraft – launched an international challenge in 2019, which sought solutions to problems in its area of activity using quantum computing. The work of a team from the University of Montevideo, led by Dr. Ing. Rafael Sotelo – director of the ICT Department of the UM Faculty of Engineering – was ranked among the top five. Vera + spoke with Sotelo about the significance of this fact and the framework of the University of Montevideo in the area.
